OVERVIEW
A Carpentry & Joinery Craftsman specializes in creating, assembling, and installing wooden structures, furniture, and fittings. The role combines traditional craftsmanship with precision and attention to detail to deliver high-quality woodwork tailored to project requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Construct and install doors, windows, staircases, cabinets, and custom furniture.
- Carry out repairs, restoration, and finishing of wooden structures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
- Ensure all joinery and carpentry work meets quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and site teams to meet project needs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized workshop or site area.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner, with a portfolio of completed work.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and finishes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work with precision.
- Skilled in using woodworking tools, machines, and measuring instruments.
- Physical stamina and attention to detail.
- Relevant certification, apprenticeship, or vocational training in carpentry/joinery.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in woodworking.
