The SIGI-271 Fire Alarm Call Points are intelligent components of the Edwards Signature Series system. These units combine the widely recognized KAC Installers’ Series Call Point housing with advanced Signature Series addressable/analog interface electronics into a single, integrated assembly.
The 271 Series operates using a glass-break mechanism. Under normal conditions, the edge of the glass holds the internal switch in the “off” position. When an occupant presses the glass, it breaks, releasing the switch and instantly transmitting an alarm signal to the Signature loop controller. To ensure user safety, the glass is treated with a protective plastic coating that prevents injury and keeps glass fragments contained upon impact.
Every Signature Series Call Point continuously performs automated self-diagnostics to assist with system maintenance. The data gathered from these self-checks is updated automatically and saved directly to the device’s non-volatile memory. Technicians can review this diagnostic data at any time via the main control panel, a connected PC, or through the SIGA-PRO Signature Program/Service Tool.
The onboard memory permanently tracks vital device history and metrics, including:
Device Identification: Serial number, loop address, and specific type code.
Service Tracking: Manufacture date, total operational hours, and the date of the most recent maintenance.
Event History: The total number of logged troubles and alarms, alongside the exact time and date of the last alarm event.
Fault Diagnosis: Up to 24 distinct trouble codes to pinpoint and diagnose specific system faults.
