VMI is a customised inventory management solution where the management of a company’s inventory is contracted out to a supplier.

How a VMI System Works
The supplier retains ownership of the inventory but places it at the customer’s facility. The customer shares their inventory data regularly, e.g. usage forecasts and required minimum/maximum stock levels, with the supplier. Using this information, the supplier ensures timely replenishments and optimal stock levels to meet the customer’s demand requirements.
