Workfare Skills Support (WSS) Scheme
The Workfare Skills Support Scheme (WSS), managed by Workforce Singapore (WSG), supports lower-wage workers to upskill, improving both their long-term employability and earning potential. It offers funding for training courses, including cash awards and allowances for those who complete eligible training.

Key Benefits
Training Allowance
(TA)
Eligible trainees can receive up to $6 per training hour, capped at 180 hours each year, under the Training Allowance (TA). To qualify, individuals must:
- Complete eligible courses taken after July 1, 2020
- Successfully pass the course
- Pay for the training themselves
- Not be disqualified from receiving grants from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Workforce Singapore (WSG), or Employment and Employability Institute (e2i)
The TA applies to courses in sectors using the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) and outcome-based courses from SSG-appointed CET Centres.

Training
Commitment Award
(TCA)
Trainees are eligible for a Training Commitment Award (TCA) of up to $1,000 in cash for completing qualifying training programs.

for 4 achievements during your WSS eligibility period.
Get $500 per WSQ or Academic CET Qualification upon completion.

Absentee Payroll
(AP)
Employers can receive Absentee Payroll (AP) support of up to 95% of the trainee’s hourly basic salary, capped at $13 per hour.

How To Claim
Training Allowance (TA)
TA is available only for employed trainees:
For Employees with CPF Contributions
- No application is needed.
- If eligible, TA will be credited to your PayNow (NRIC-linked) account within 1 to 5 months after course completion.
For Self-Employed Individuals (No Regular CPF Contributions)
- Submit a TA claim via Singpass within 4 months of course completion.
- Provide documents proving active employment.
- If eligible, TA will be credited within 3 months of claim submission.
