Face-to-Face Exams
Candidates perform live in front of an examiner, presenting selected pieces, technical work, and supporting tests. This traditional format allows for immediate interaction and feedback.

Digital Exams
For added flexibility, we offer digital exams where candidates can submit video recordings. There are two pathways:
- Technical Work Pathway
Includes performance pieces and technical work.
- Repertoire-Only Pathway
Focuses solely on performance pieces, ideal for those who prefer a performance-centric assessment.
Exam Components
Performance Pieces
Candidates select and perform pieces from the repertoire lists in the relevant Classical and Jazz syllabus.
Technical Work
This includes scales, arpeggios, exercises, or orchestral extracts, depending on the instrument and grade.
Supporting Tests
Depending on the grade and candidate’s choice, this may include sight reading, aural tests, improvisation, or musical knowledge.
