Course Overview
To equip food handlers of both retail and non-retail food establishments with the knowledge and application skills to follow food safety and hygiene procedures and policies, as well as maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of premises

- Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and service/storage areas
- The half-day course aims to provide learners with the essential knowledge and skill-sets to follow food & beverage safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
- Participants will learn basic food safety course knowledge to become qualified food handlers.
Training Requirement
Persons engaged in the sale or preparation for sale of any food in SFA-licensed food establishments are required to attend and pass Food Safety Course Level 1 (FSC L1).
They are required to attend and pass their first refresher training by the 5th year from the date of first passing FSC L1, and thereafter the second and subsequent training every 10th year from the last refresher course passed date.
Target Audience
Food Handlers (i.e. any individual who prepares food and beverage products in NEA/SFA-licensed eating establishments)
Personnel primarily involved in the serving of F&B products to customers (e.g. managers, captains, waiters, cashiers, and other service staff)
Entry Requirement
- Participants must be able to read, write and understand basic English
- Previously attend the Basic Food Hygiene Course certificate awarded by any ONE of the following:
- Singapore SkillsFuture Singapore under the WSQ framework in any training center
- National Environment Agency (NEA)
- Ministry of the Environment

Participants who pass the exam will be issued the Statement of Attainment (Refresher) by SkillsFuture Singapore, approved by Singapore Food Agency
